In the Book the Odyssey by Homer, Women are portrayed as people who have less say in decision making and are taken advantage of by men. First, they are lower in power than men are during this time. Penelope is the one who is supposed to marry by one of the suitors and she cannot get the men to leave her alone or leave her house. This shows That Penelope doesn’t have much power over these men even when they are eating her own food and sleeping in her own palace.
Finally, women in the book are more taken advantage of than the women are today. When Odysseus lands on Circe’s island, she lets him and his crew stay on the island, but they take advantage of her hospitality. Because of Circe letting men stay on her island, she has to provide food and
