The building had stone walls and stone battlements. The whole thing was made out of stone. There were men’s faces and lion’s heads carved out of stone. Throughout the chapter, the Marquis asks if his nephew has arrived and he hasn’t. While supper was being made, the Marquis stares out the window waiting for his nephew to arrive. Finally, when supper was done and served, the servants announced the arrival of the Marquis’s nephew, his nephew is Charles Darnay. Charles Darnay apologizes for being late.
