Every year, graduating students participate in graduation ceremonies. Regardless of cultural differences, we are accustomed to the same scene, in which promising future plans are shared and speeches are given. The author, Tali Sharot, discusses whether such speeches are too optimistic and establish unrealistic expectations of the new graduates.
