Whereas, “10 Things…” takes on the subject of the female’s ability to have influence and/or control over the male, with the emphasis of the sexual power of a woman. Relationships appear to be more one-sided marriages in the “The Taming of the Shrew”, while in “10 Things I Hate About You”, relationships and dating appear to portray a genuine feeling and are the result of compromise.
