First off, tanning can lead to premature skin aging which is the noticeable loss of a glowing complexion, paired with dark circles, fine lines or dry, less elastic skin. Tanning beds have a constant flow of long-wave UV-B rays which causes a more rapid tanning and burning of the skin cells, which is why the skin ages faster than normal. In conclusion the UV rays of the tanning bed, which affect the deeper layers of skin, are responsible for this negative effect.

The tanning bed is a very dangerous tool to try to become what today’s society considers beautiful. Tanning beds can cause premature skin, spread various diseases, and cause different types of cancer. There is no such thing as a “safe” tan and especially not one that came from a tanning bed.
