Tasers
Definition of the Research Problem/Question The research topic we have chosen to research is Tasers. The use of Tasers has been a very controversial topic in the last few years. We will also be researching some of the pros and cons of the use or Tasers by law enforcement. Currently, we believe that some of the cons may be police are using Tasers as routine force to subdue noncompliant people who are not a danger to themselves or others and police using Tasers in situations that do not require the use of Tasers or are excessively using Tasers. Literature Review
Our study suggests a review of literatures on the use of Tasers by police officers in situations that require less than the use of deadly force. The needs to be studied based on the literature are law enforcement officers currently using Tasers and how they are being used. Since our topic is new and changes every day we will be using magazine articles and the internet to get the most up to date information.
Data/Methods
We will conduct our data thru an online survey that will be sent out to 30 law enforcement participants that are currently using a Taser. We will have a set of questions on that survey that will each pertain to the use of a Taser. Our independent variables are gender, usage of Taser, usage of deadly force,
