The article, “As Gun Debate Roles On, Teachers In This Texas School Are Already Armed” by Molly Hennessy-Fiske, gave me an interesting insight on the actions being taken for school shootings. The simple and easy fix that everybody thinks is a great idea, to arm the teachers and staff. However, I am not sold on this because it sounds to me we are rushing our decision making. Guns being intentionally brought into schools concern me because anything can happen. For example, a student might steel the gun and use it, it can get misplaced and lost, or the gun might accidentally fire and hurt someone. A gun is not a toy, therefore, it should not be treated like one. Teachers are adults and are very responsible, but who is to say a teacher won’t
