I hope that this message finds you well and I'm glad to see that you have a sudden interest in the Internet. Luckily for you I have been using the Internet for quite sometime and I have lots of information for you! First off, I just want to tell you a little about the everyday usage that Americans depend on when they use the Internet. The Internet can be accessed though a smart phone, tablet, or usually found being used with a computer.
Internet can be used for many different things. You can find out information about the news from your local city all the way to the other side of the world. The internet has the capability to tell you the weather, it can tall you just about anything! Everyone used the internet because it easy to use and its become an everyday thing to use. You can even go to school and get your degree (that’s actually what I’m doing). In most professional careers you will see that they need you to be able to use computer and be able to access the internet.
A commonly used site would be name Google. Google is an Internet search engine, if you need to find out something. You would type in your question and Google will pull up any information that is on the whole Internet! There are other search engines available if you don’t like to use Google, you can use other engines such as Bing, or Yahoo. The Internet is like an endless book, it grows everyday. There aren’t a lot of bad things to say about the Internet but you do need to know that there is a lot of false information out there too. You just need to be sure that with all that information you find, is true and accurate.
A way that you can be sure that the information that you find online is reliable source is by the site you use. More common sites have a more repertable background but can still have wrong information. Usually when you look for something online you have a URL, when the URL ends in .edu, .gov, or even in .net, this means that it’s an official site. Usually when your looking for information I like to find multiple sources that all support the same information, that way I can validate that particular information. If I was to write a research paper I like to use that Internet and I also like to use textbooks just so I can verify what I've found online.
Also I noticed that you also had some questions asking about the digital divide and what it was. A digital divide “refers to the gap between people with effective access to digital and information technology”. Here in America the digital divide is very apparent and is commonly seen in the younger generation and the older generations. The younger generation has grown up with all of the newer
