In Protests of Net Neutrality Repeal, Teenage Voices Stood Out, Cecilia Kang brings light to the opinions of teenagers on this repeal and the efforts they took to protest the repeal and get politically involved to overturn the Federal Communications Commission’s decision on net neutrality. It is bad for technology and innovation because without net neutrality, internet providers can block certain small websites for people who use that internet provider, not allow people to access new websites of new companies, and discourage an innovative form of technology because the internet will prevent their device from getting advertised or accessing certain features. The repeal of net neutrality is bad for the technology because bigger, more prosperous companies will have the opportunity to block their competitors, make smaller companies go out of business, and create a monopoly. When there is a monopoly, they charge unreasonable prices for goods or services. The repeal of net neutrality is also bad for accessing things online because the people who use the internet might not have the opportunity to access everything and find all the things they want to. This limits learning and makes America similar to a communist country only showing certain things to their citizens. All in all, I believe the repeal of net neutrality will change technology and innovation, the economy, and the internet experience in an extremely detrimental
