In my opinion Terry Fox is by far the greatest Canadian. He was a hero to many. After losing his leg to cancer, at the age of 21 he started a cross-Canada run to save the lives of cancer patients. He ran from St. John's Newfoundland to Thunder Bay, Ontario. On average he would run 42 Km a day. His goal was to raise $1 from every Canadian or $24 million. Terry Fox gave his mind, body, and soul to Canada. He was forced to stop because the cancer had spread to his lungs. He raised $1.7 million, but Canadians were so inspired by his story they donated another $23 million. Terry Fox shortly died after a year in hospital, and he reached his goal of $24 million.
