The Texas academic principles stipulates how the students are expected to learn as well as their school activities. In the last few years, states have been empowered to define the principles of academic content in most of the subjects. State assessment mechanism are also used to determine if the students meets the set criteria in educational merits. The Texas curriculum requires the integration of technology among other items into the K-8 classes, whereby additional and specific technology courses are offered at the high school level. Curriculum enrichment is a relatively difficult task, which requires the comprehension of teachers. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) started rolling out a series of pilot programs across the state. Regrettably, it appears as through teachers are yet to grasp the importance of TEKS curriculum. Some have abandoned the use of TEKS principles in the curriculum design and development, especially in enrichment subject areas. Technological application in the production chain is critical as it reduces the cost of production by increasing the efficiency in the entire process. This demonstrates the importance of using technology in classrooms. The rapid deployment of technology creates the need for advancing the competence levels of teachers in using these resources. Increasing the competence of teachers in technology utilization allows them to efficiently use these resources in training the students. Nevertheless, the incorporation of technology in classrooms must conform according to education standards in Texas as outlined by the TEKS principles.
