The Friar The Canterbury Tales by G. Chaucer tell the stories of different characters with very different personalities that differ from their role in society. The story of the Friar tell from the mouth of a Brother Hubert, a member of the Chaucer refers to as a corrupt clergy. Although not directly about the Friar rather than of the Summoner is talked about in this tale, we learn about the character in this portion of the prologue. The Friar is physically described as what you would typically picture a monk or brother to look like. His neck is very white. The top of his head is bald and shiny. He has hair that is only along the sides of his head above his ears. He is an older gentleman. And the actor I mostly would associate him with would be Christopher Lloyd when he played the role of Uncle Fester in the Film The Addams Family. In the movie Christopher Lloyd would look much like his previous role with a long brown robe like garment. His shoes would be a very simple, plain black with straps or plain brown sandals. He would have an overly exaggerated cross around his neck and have a lisp when he spoke. The Friar is loved by and favors the rich. On the contrary to his typical job description, he avoids at any cost being around the poor and those with leprosy. He’s very happy but also very wanton.
