This work is called “The Agony in the Garden” by Francesco Trevisani. The medium for this work is oil on canvas. As you can see the title is appropriate because the scene appears to be taking place in the Garden of Eden. The center figure in this painting seemingly depicts Jesus in the Garden of Eden. My theory of the scene is that after his resurrection he could decide upon going to heaven or staying on earth to save more souls. In the bottom right corner of this painting depicts what appears to be hell while in the opposing corner it appears to be heaven. The Jesus like figure is the center of the painting while also being in the middle of what appears to be heaven and hell indicates he is on earth and more specifically the Garden of Eden.
