After graduating High School Lucas decided to enroll into Mode Sto Junior College. He wanted to study anthropology. While studying, he discovered that he had a passion for cinematography, and camera tricks. Following this passion he graduated from USC in California as a photographer. While exploring this path he met his first mentor “Haskell Wexler” in the Cinematography industry. After that he transferred to USC of Cinematic Arts. He joined a group of film students known as “The Dirty Dozen” where he became friends with Steven Spielberg. HE graduated with a fine arts degree in 1967 and attempted to join the US Air Force but, was turned down due to his numerous speeding tickets. Later he got drafted into the Army in Vietnam but he was turned down again, but this time to do diabetes. Still in 1967, he reenrolled in the USC to be an instructor for a class of US Navy students. After that he directed his first full-length film called “Electronic Labyrinth iTHX11384EB” which won first place in the national student-film festival. Lucas was then awarded a student scholarship by Warner Brothers to observe and work on making a film of his choosing. He filmed “Finian’s Rainbow” and in 1969 he was one of the camera men for The rolling stones’ music video “Gimme Shelter.” After that Lucas just became bigger and bigger.

Three years after, he released its sequel “The Empire Strikes Back” which was again, another huge success. Another three years after that “The Return of The Jedi” was released, ending the original trilogy. Sixteen years after the final film, they release “The Phantom Menace” a prequel to the original movies. It rekindled the series, and they brought in “Attack of the Clones”, followed by “Revenge of the Sith.” The series is so strong they even made “Star Wars the Clone Wars”, an animated series on Cartoon Network.
Lucas was not finished when he made Star Wars, far from it in fact. In 1981 he released “Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark” The movie is about the adventures of Dr. Henry “Indiana” Jones, who is a fictional archaeologist. In the movie he stops a band of evil treasure collectors from using a powerful artifact.
