There are many different myths and legends about banshees. The first myth started in ireland. People in ireland believe that the banshee is an omen of death. They cry of a banshee means someone has died, specifically one of these major families, the O’Grady’s, the O’Neills, the O’Briens, the O’Conners and the Kavanaghs. It was known in Ireland that each family had their own banshee. The banshees features can vary from an old lady with gray stringy hair to an old woman with long white hair.

A banshee can be a symbol for many things. The main symbol is that the banshee is an omen of death. Some other symbols are also it can symbolize that if you see a banshee something bad will happen. This creature is feared because if people were to see one that would be a sign that someone will die.there is superstition that the irish people believe that if you find a comb on the ground it is considered bad luck. The banshee does not cause death it only warns it. There are two types of banshees, one is the bean Sidhe, which is the most common one. This banshee screams as a symbol of someone dying. In advertisement there is a ride at kings island amusement park called the banshee. This ride as you go down the hill the ride has a sound of banshees scream.
