10. The Big Bang Theory - The Love Spell Potential

The Big Bang Theory is one of the biggest sitcoms out there, but its reputation in the geek community is somewhat... mixed, to put it mildly. This is hardly surprising since the show often portrays geeks as needy, childish, insecure and occasionally downright obnoxious. However, the show's cast does have a great chemistry together and when The Big Bang Theory decides to use geek culture for something more than lazy punch lines, it can not only be entertaining but genuinely moving.

6. Futurama

Futurama was developed in the late 1990s by Matt Groening and David X. Cohen as the sci-fi version of The Simpsons.

By following the story of Phillip J. Fry The futuristic setting of the show allowed it to play with dungeons & dragons twice. In the second season's anthology episode Tales of Interest Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons, makes a cameo appearance, together with Al Gore and Stephen Hawking.

Dungeons and Dragons first reached the mainstream audience during the 1980s. While some people accused the game of being a recruiting tool for Satan, others turned it into a Saturday morning cartoon.
