Nowadays, more than 7,200 organizations provide public transportation almost all over the United States. Unfortunately, Angola, located in the northeastern corner of Indiana, doesn’t have any kind of public transportation. People cannot imagine how surprised I was when I found out that there is no public transportation in Angola, no buses nor subway, cable cars or streetcars. In order to make Angola a better livable town we need public transportation system.
Today, Trine University has 1,773 students and they represent a large percentage of Angola’s population, and there is a large group of elderly people who live there too, and the elderly people actually represent 35.63% of Angola’s population, which is increasing really fast per year. As of 2012, Angola's population was 8,612 people. Since 2000, it has had a population growth of 9.11% and so, for students, seniors and people who have just moved here public transportation is really needed.
Although it seems insignificant, implementing a public transportation network can greatly change everything. For example, if someone needs to buy groceries, and he/she doesn’t have a car, they mostly will decide not to go. And if such things keep happening, it will cause opportunity loss to the department stores and supermarkets. Thus, it will cause a shortage in the demand and thus a lack of jobs. It’s a well-known fact that one of the major reasons for a lot of the recent advances in science is the difference in our ability to travel
