The Bullying Cycle In life everyone has some sort of struggle whether it’s making a rent payment, keeping good grades, finding the perfect dress for prom or deciding to join a gym. Unfortunately for others, particularly young adolescents, one of the struggles they encounter in life is bullying. Bullying is an everyday encounter for many adolescents, and unlike the other struggles mentioned before this one can have a long term impact on a person that can completely alter their perspective and mental being. There are three major types of bullying: physical, cyber, and verbal. Physical bullying is a form of bullying where the person bullying uses their body to inflict some sort of intentional pain towards the victim. Cyber bullying occurs on different types of social media and has the victim being attacked by one or several people with posts, tweets, tags, comments, etc. In today’s society with modern technology young adults, kids and even adults have access and utilization of the internet to communicate very easily without leaving the comfort of your home. Society has set up an easy access for anyone to bully another person without having to deal with them face to face or to physically see their reaction, but leaving the bully satisfaction with inflicting pain on someone emotionally. With cyber bullying, majority of it is words and visual aids that break down a victim because once something is on the internet it’s hard to remove it, therefore leaving the victim with the mentality that it’s going to stay there forever. Cyber bullying leaves people vulnerable and more susceptible to having suicidal thoughts.
