Pathophysiology of inflammation
It is important for public health professional to understand the pathophysiology of inflammation so they can recognize the triggers that activate the immune response during an injury, and therefore the process of inflammation. Inflammation is a process by which the body's white blood cells and substances they produce protect us from infection with foreign organisms, such as bacteria and viruses (WebMD, 2015). When inflammation occurs, the body's white blood cells released chemicals into the blood as a defense mechanism to protect your body from foreign substances. With that information, public health professionals can educate, modify assessment, prevention, and use treatment protocols to improve the process

Myocarditis, Nephritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, bronchitis, appendicitis, dermatitis, tonsillitis, Acute infective meningitis, sinusitis, Asthma, peptic ulcer, Tuberculosis, chronic periodontitis, and Crohn's disease are just a few that are associated with inflammation.
What public health policies, programs, or interventions may improve these inflammation related health outcomes?
Asthma- the CDC National Asthma Control Program (NACP) helps millions of Americans understand, manage, and gain control over their asthma. The program leads national initiatives and provides state funding for a variety of activities focused on surveillance, intervention, partnerships, and evaluation. These activities have provided millions of people with asthma the essential tools for controlling their disease and helped them understand how to improve the quality of their lives through proper asthma management (CDC, 2013).
Rheumatoid arthritis- The CDC Arthritis Program recommends evidence-based programs that are proven to improve the quality of life of people with arthritis and these programs consist of physical activity programs and self-management education programs (CDC,

Yes, understanding the role of inflammation should be a part of health education aimed to any particular population because inflammation can occur at any age. Children and adults of all ages can be affected by arthritis, asthma and TB. Each cause of arthritis tends to have a typical pattern in terms of which joints are affected and the age of people most likely to be affected (Patient, 2015). Asthma can start at any age and the inflammation may narrow the air passages and makes it difficult for air to pass through the airways and making it hard to breathe in and out.
Should more money be advocated for programs that relate to preventing behaviors that result in inflammation or should more money be spent on treating inflammation?

Yes, more money should be spent in treating inflammation from asthma because some of populations are at risk due to socioeconomic status. The fact that asthma can’t be prevented, you can take steps to control the disease and prevent its symptoms.
