The cause of this was most likely due to the fact that he was the older sibling and had a baby sister that probably received more attention. The other cause of having to seek attention could be because that it may have been dull lifeless in the household, and according to the short story, “Charles was an institution in our family” (348). All of this misbehavior was due to the fact that he had a younger baby sister which needed more attention, consequently enough, he wanted as much attention as his sister was receiving. This is what kept him from adjusting to kindergarten.
