Coming from a land where the architecture still followed brick and concrete for houses, grandmother were in search of something new and exciting. They wanted to get away from old, fire ovens, managing cattle, fields of grass and dirt, and plain, flat landscape their own home possessed. Grandmother would tell people of her aspirations to live by the beach where beauty rested and rose every day, where people cared about their health and ran at any hour of the day and where the excitement of seeing new places was something that could be done daily if desired. The arcade followed a candy apple red and a sunshine yellow color scheme. Inside, air hockey tables occupied the main floor and an actual ride called the "Whirl-a-Hurl" occupied the left side of the arcade. The back of the arcade housed the ski ball machines, the crane machines, the faux shooting range, and the prize center. Fighting, driving, and basketball games occupied the inner-back side of the wall since the arcade had a wall dividing the arcade. My favorite part of the arcade was playing the fighting games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and air hockey. There was also this machine where I’d insert one token and I’d basically get a fruit designed gumball the size of a jawbreaker. Most of my time was spent running around the arcade going from game to game. However, the rest of the time spent at the arcade was used by my brother, A.K.A Pancho, and I gathering snacks to remind us of where we’ve gone for the day. We’d use the leftover coins to gather gumballs to last us a few days. I would never personally play this crane type game of getting gumballs because I was terrible at it so my brother always got us the gum. There was also this chicken that laid eggs that gave me a surprise in every
