The consequences of David’s affair and subsequent murder presents a lifetime of heartache within David’s family and rule as king (Tullock, & McEntire, 2012). The immediate consequence was the death of the child born because of this illicit affair. The ongoing effects of the affair were the pain, loss, and death felt by David and his house throughout time. One such instance begins when David’s son Amnon lusts after his half-sibling Tamar to the point that enacts a plan to rape her but does not marry her (Wilcox, 2014). However, Ammon’s refusal to marry Tamar disgraces her and David, without apparent consequence. Meanwhile, Absalom who is Tamar’s full brother and Amnon half-brother of his own accord seeks vengeance by killing Amnon.
