The importance of the Constitution, and of the government, in my opinion was as simply put by James Madison. “If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this.” This I believe is in the heart of everything that the government and the constitution stands for. It's shown that great thought and effort went into the Constitution, from the first word to its last.
