There is more than one side to the debate about allowing cell phones in school. One claim is that cell phones should be allowed in school. “A complete ban on cellphones during school hours fails to distinguish between different circumstances and may lead to disrespect for authority figures in school” (George and Cook). If there is a complete ban on cell phones, students will find a way to talk to their friends in other classes. If a person goes into a school and only causes trouble, someone will need to contact the police (George and Cook). Every student knows when it is appropriate to use their phone, so the students should be able to use their phone between classes and during lunch. The counterclaim is cell phones
