Proctor went to testify against Abigail in court. In order to do that, he would have to admit to being a lecher which would ultimately ruin his reputation. Proctor confessed to everything. Abigail claimed he was lying. Danforth called for them to bring Elizabeth out of her cell to testify, since she never lied. Elizabeth vowed that she was pregnant at the time and then told the court that her husband was not a lecher. She lied to save her husband, but ended up condemning them both. Abigail was the victim in the court’s eyes; however she ran away, showing that she was guilty. Proctor was hanged and Elizabeth was set free.
