The multitude of agencies that have come together to provide a safe environment to the communities in which it serves is countless, but these groups need the assistance of every citizen of this Nation. The security of this nation is the responsibility of every citizen living and working with this country. The ability to “identify, investigate, and interdict legitimate threats as early as possible” (DHS, 2014, p 34) incorporates a community of intelligence gathering techniques which requires a partnership to be developed between the private and government sectors to develop methods in which deter, protect from acts of terrorism or natural disasters. The head of this collaboration is the department of Homeland security (HLS) and its partnership with private sector companies. Securing the critical infrastructure with the US is paramount in the ability of the private sector to continue its operations providing necessary products to the citizens. The first step in protecting the Nation is to identify those areas in which we need to protect that provide a vital product in which this country requires to operate in normal manner. The immigration system must allow the proper handling of the customers that intend on becoming citizens of this country. Although, the communication in between the appropriate agencies must flow freely without slowing the process in between gaining a valid visa. This country was built upon immigrants and many families have known someone that have come to this country from another in search of a better life. Undocumented workers are hired to work within the US has taken jobs from the American people which places a financial burden on the Government agencies that provide the unemployed with financial support. Tighter restrictions and accountability system to those are required on US based companies in the hiring these undocumented employees in order to maintain a healthy economy. The current threat of terrorist activity across the democratic countries world-wide calls a collective effort towards the policies in this process. The integration of new policies in the immigration enforcement must provide clear direction in the “arrest, detention, and removal of priority individuals, namely national security, public safety, and border security threats.” (DHS, 2014, p.26) This will require the intelligence of several communities working together in order to identify possible threats coming from other countries.
