Introduction The Chesapeake bay is the third largest estuary in the United States, housing a diverse habitat of land and sea mammals. But this is all being taken away by the harmful effects of phosphate, entering the Chesapeake bay through human/animal waste, which runs off of soil and enters streams and rivers that lead to the Chesapeake bay. Over 19.9 million pounds of phosphorus enters the bay. We must do something about this.
