The point of a process paper is to educate the reader on how to do something or on how something took place. Stages of the process are carefully laid out and factual details are given to help the reader understand the steps taken within the process either to be able to accomplish it themselves, or, to give the reader a greater understanding of exactly how something occurred. A good process paper describes the steps in vivid detail, and in the order of which they belong. The following is a review of the process essay called The Emancipation of Abe Lincoln written by Eric Foner in 2012.
In this process paper essay Foner gave details and background information to clearly lay out the steps to the process leading up to the Emancipation Proclamation.
