“US History 1: Lesson 7”
The Reconstruction was unsuccessful because of many factors. The idea of Reconstruction was to reconstruct the South and join the country again, but some groups thought the South deserved to be punished and the economy of this region was already devastated, so this was one factor that did not contribute to Reconstruction. Another factor was some people wanted to give civil rights to African-Americans but this made their lives more difficult because of limited work. Also, many organizations that were against the Reconstruction delayed this process. In conclusion, this process did not solve all the problems the country had, in some cases, only worsened.
