The Family Farmer “Ay, Matey! “ You scurvy dogs, I’m gonna tell ye a little story about a wee lad named Russ Giesy, my grandfather. Many years ago, he spent his childhood on a farm in New York. Some of his favorite things to do are gardening and caring for his animals. There oncme was a lad; his name was Russell G. Giesy. In 1947, he was born in Lyons, New York, and grew up on a dairy cattle farm. He had a very happy and perfect childhood. He never wanted to grow up, that is how perfect his childhood was. His family farm had 35 cows and 25 young heifers. They each had names and were all part of the family. He had some friends, but not very many. He mainly stayed on the farm and did his chores. He had awesome parents, who are named Helena and Glen. They stayed at home most of the time, and did not travel to town often or out to eat. Taking care of the farm was the reason they stayed home.
