The Teaching of Life Stories and Lessons in Myths and Informational Text
In both the Myth The Flight of Icarus retold by Sally Benson and the informational text Women in aviation by Patricia and Fredrick Mckissack they teach life lessons and tell stories that could change your view on the topic and/or life. When the narrator is talking about how Bessie Coleman passed many obstacles he said this “Bessie Coleman refused limitations others tried to place on her.” This quote proves that Bessie Coleman didn’t listen to negativity and was determined to be a pilot and fight for her rights. The Narrator is teaching us a very important life lesson if do not listen to people against you and doubting you, you can be anything you want if you are determined.
