The chapter The Floating Book begins with Death skipping forward in time to a time when Rudy helped grab a book for Liesel. He later describes the circumstances of Rudy’s death by bombing two years after the incident where he helped Liesel grab a book from the Amper river. The next chapter The Gamblers first begins with Death apologizing for telling you the ending to early and instead decides to tell you about the April of 1941. It first begins with Rosa and Hans both looking for scissors to cut Max’s hair until Max comes and offers his own but decides to let Liesel cut his hair instead of Rosa or Hans. Soon after in early May, Liesel iis reading inside of the Mayor's library when his wife offers to give Liesel the book she is currently reading …show more content…
By the 5th day the window is finally open so Liesel climbed inside without her shoes and grabbed The Whistler. Just as Liesel was about to leave Rudy told her that he had forgotten her shoes so he went back in to grab them without getting caught. When they got home Rudy had given her the title of book thief. The next chapter the Three Acts of Stupidity by Rudy tells of the three stupidest things he did over the course of November and December. The first thing was trying to steal the largest potato from a grocery store but he was caught by a group of women and kicked out. Soon after that he saw Franz Deutscher on the street and threw a rock at his spine. This then caused Franz to pin Rudy to the ground and start cutting his hair with a knife until he told Franz the correct date of Hitler’s birthday. The last idiotic thing Rudy did was quit Hitler youth meetings. Eventually Rudy was able to join a new division about fly aircraft which he enjoyed much more than his previous division. The Floating Book Part II is the part of the book that Death had spoiled earlier about Rudy Steiner diving into a river to get The Whistler for Liesel except we now hear about it in a more detailed
