The professional wrestler tells the public what to buy and the vice president tells you what to believe in. “The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls and tenement halls,” (S.O.S.) shows how those who bring change are not powerful in society. This tells of how the different money classes either show how life should be lived or how is lived. Even with the similarities between the Sound of Silence and There’s a War Going on for Your Mind they are different in the approach to how these problems should be handled. In There’s a War Going on for Your Mind the title tells the people that there is a problem, but does not help the listener get out of the situation. “Hear my words that I might teach you, take my arms that I might reach you,” (S.O.S) tells of how the narrator is trying to help the people get out of these problems.
