The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan (dnf): Unfortunately, I was unable to finish this book as I felt like it was going nowhere. I've heard that many other people are really excited about it and loved everything about it, and that is why I originally picked it up, however, I was not so enthusiastic when reading it. I felt as if I couldn't connect with the character and the events didn't surprise me like I feel they should have. I managed to get around 50% of the book read before I put it down, as, nothing of note had happened yet; For the most part it was all about how the main protagonist sat around in a nunnery. I can't even remember to main character's name now...
The writing was okay, readable; Despite that, the main problem with this novel is the pacing of the story and the characters, who don't seem to have any common sense. This book may remain on my dnf pile for a while before I attempt it again.
Everyday by David Levithan (Read): My opinion is conflicted when it comes to this book; On the one hand, I generally enjoyed it, the central character was good and the writing was easy to understand, making it a quick read. Additionally, Sam was such a cool character to get to know, along with finding out the mysteries of his father and watching him and John navigate through High School. This novel was essentially the calm before the storm and it is so amazing to read how everything has changed from the simple beginning to the soon to be end as the last book comes out next
