The executive branch has the responsibilities of “enforcing and carrying out laws” (usa.gov, Branches of Government). The president, vice president, the Cabinet, as well as other boards make up the executive branch. The president is the elected leader of the country. They carry the responsibility of being “the leader of the federal government and the commander in chief of the United States Armed Forces”. The Electoral College plays a big part in the election of the president. Each state has an equal amount of electoral votes as number of senators and representatives. The vice president is appointed by the president of the U.S. The vice president supports the president and if the president is unable to serve, the vice president would become president.
