-chapter 7: In my opinion, this is the climax of the story. This is the chapter where Daisy and Gatsby's love becomes obvious to Tom. On page 119, it says Tom was astounded and described Daisy as someone he knew a long time ago. It was really interesting to me that Daisy and Gatsby weren't really hiding what was going on. There was a confrontation between Mr. Wilson and Tom and Mr. Wilson pretty much figured out what was going on and wanted to move his wife because of it. He didn't seem to know that it was Tom who was the adulterer though because he acted normal around him. Then came the suit in New York. Everything now was in the air. Mr. Wilson was on a manhunt for the person who killed his wife and he found out it was Gatsby. Wilson killed Gatsby in his pool and then turned the gun on himself. I completely did not see that coming. Also, the relationship between Jordan and Nick is fading pretty quick. All of these things are the things that I was hoping didn't happen in the story. All of my predictions were wrong. This chapter further described the past between Daisy and Gatsby. It revealed the most information about the two’s story before the present that we have seen throughout the whole story. There really were only a few people at his funeral which was weird because he was such a popular figure and so many people came to his parties. Gatsby's father came down for the funeral and he seemed very proud of the man that Gatsby became and what he would have aspired to be had he lived. Also, Nick talked about how he is from the west and shouldn't have moved to the east where he claims it is “unadaptable” to westerners. The last part of the book Nick is just about ready to leave his home for somewhere new, and he looks back on Gatsby's wonder for the green light and his belief in the light and his future. I think the book ended in a way that I didn't necessarily enjoy, but it definitely was a page
