I enjoyed your post. In the first paragraph you bring up Suki, as she is entering the hotel. All of the guests were in shock! You had suggested that it seemed that if she did own the hotel the guests wouldn’t be shocked, I agree without on that. I think the main reason everyone was shocked was because she was the Lady Matador in the flesh. I don’t think any of the guests have actually seen her before, so she was like Gatsby in the way that he was almost a fictional character to everyone. Since she is going against the status quo and she has her job that is more of a masculine job, everyone was shocked. The one character that I didn’t care for was the same one as you.
