The Guatemalan Revolution was one of the results in this outcome, Jacob Arbenz was their ruler and was now a communist. Guatemala was stripped of their lands and rights. The Revolution lasted over 36 years and 200,000 lives were lost. Anastasio Somoza was Nicaragua’s official leader; he was able to gain complete power over the people. Somoza Dynasty would control for decades and horribly abuse populations of Nicaragua Sandinistas were after Augusto Sandinistas as the leftist rebels.
