The Hardest Season of My Life Everything negative, pressure, challenges is all an opportunity for me to rise. Having a disencouraging basketball coach is not very helpful when playing a basketball game. Although basketball is my favorite sport so giving up was not an option. I survived my 6th grade basketball season by keeping my head in the game and ignoring comments coming from my coach. The fifth grade season, in fifth grade all my friends and I were in our second year of playing basketball. We were all super excited to be in middle school because the older you get the more competitive the game gets. The fifth grade season was a season to remember. These opportunities gave our team to become more skilled and advanced. On the day of our first practice everyone was ready to ball but when we got there we ran killers and shot free throws. My friends and I were dissatisfied with lack of basketball we actually played during practice. After many of these types of practices I realized that a lot of teams are getting better and all doing is running, at that moment I felt the weight of the drop onto my shoulders. At this point in the season my teammates and I could conclude that we didn’t have a very good coach. My coach was the mother of one of my teammates and she acted more like a mom than a coach to her which wasn’t fair to us. This happened because my coach gave all the credit to her daughter, she got to play the position she wanted to play, which happened to be my position so I had to play center and I was not happy about that because my coaches daughter was about 5 inches taller than me and she was playing shooting guard not center. My coaches daughter almost always started and it was the same five people who would start so a lot of girls felt left
