In my opinion, the Hays code was ultimately an unjustifiable system that was put in to place out of fear for the potential chaos that could have erupted in Hollywood. Despite the time range of 1930 to 1968, it is almost as if it is an unrealistic system, as for it has placed restrictions even on suggestive dances and miscegenation. The constraints filmmakers would have to abide by would make it near impossible to create a successful film in the industry today. Considering today’s time and age, this code would not meet the standards of audiences now. Also, I feel that if this code were still in place today, the films would not be as near as interesting and rather a stagnant performance. The MPAA rating allows the audience to choose which
