The congress is a constitutional institution, it’s limited by the constitution but their representatives are elected by the people. It’s divided in two branches that are recognized as the House of Representatives which are based in 150 members allowed by constitution terms; they are permitted to preserve their spot for two years before to face elections to personal renewal. In other hand, we have the senate that compared to the House of Representatives is composed of 31 members, a significant difference, they are elected in general elections, but they are divided into two groups, 15 out of 31 members of senate face elections 2 years after they got elected for the spot while the rest members enjoy four years of serve, until the next general elections. The power of the congress is also divided between the two branches; both has the goal to vote and decide what bills would be helpful for the country, the difference is the time they take, House debate and vote for a bill in a single day, and senate deliberations take weeks.
