Throughout history, the central governments have always selected extreme power to tyrannize over proposing People's Needs. The book is a great read. "The Illegal", by Lawrence Hill showcases the theme of tyranny. The book universally states that tyranny thrives when fear binds the people and the government transcends its role as servant to become master. For illegal immigrants like Keita Ali, Freedom State proposed tyrannical and discriminatory enforcement. The Person vs Society conflict of Keita Ali living in Freedom State, as he had to hide in the country and race by a fake name "Roger Bannister", showcases the profound tyrannical and prejudicial behaviour of not only the government but also the people themselves towards people who are fleeing from their land filled with dictatorship and corruption, and seeking asylum for a better future, although being treated the same way. The Person vs Society Conflict expands to AfricTawn, the regular raiding of forces into the Afric Town district as the majority of the population was black. Interestingly, not only did they raid the Town, but they arrested children who could not provide documentation of citizenship, which demonstrates the severe state of tyranny in Freedom State, as arresting anyone, even minorities, for not having and providing citizenship.
