Upon his transition to produce a standpoint stating the circumstances of which “nigger” has become normalized in culture, he lacks the acknowledgement of contributing factors that has pushed it into popular culture, and merely states that it has occurred “whether thoughtlessly or by design” (Marriott 94). Inherent are numerous implications. Firstly, by stating such, Marriott breaks its transition into mainstream culture due to ignorance or extraneous manipulation. Secondly, this reestablishes the view of the Black’s impeding mentality of the inferiority complex, most evident in the era of racial segregation.
