The Second Battle of Marne was significant during the course of World War 1 as it is seen as the turning point of the war. The battle was Germany’s last major offensive on the Western Front and saw a counteroffensive effort that ended with Germany surrendering soon afterwards. The Second Battle of Marne also marked the beginning of major American efforts in the war. Their help among the Allies boosted their efforts, helping to lead the Allies to a victory in World War 1.
