The Intolerable Acts were made up of four acts that were implemented and they were very harsh on the colonists because the British thought that the colonists had too much power and it was too easy for them to revolt. There were four Acts that made up the Intolerable Acts. The first one was the Boston Port Bill, which closed Boston harbor until the restitution or recompensation was made for the amount of tea lost during the Boston Tea Party. The second act was the Massachusetts Government Act, which made Massachusetts abolish its government and made it lose all its power. It also forbid town meetings without approval. The third act was the Administration of Justice Act, which gave British officers more protection when they were charged with capital offences. Because of that, British officers could go to England or other colonies to get their trials. During the time when the Intolerable Acts was allowed, the Boston Harbor was shut down for as long time until the amount of money lost was paid back. This affected the colonists living in Boston severely because the Boston Harbor was one of the biggest and most economical harbors during the time. In Massachusetts, they couldn’t have a government or have any town meetings without approval.
