The Iroquois confederacy represented an alliance of six native groups that had made a pact of peace. During the revolutionary war, the Confederacy was divided into two groups for the first time and began fought against one another. One side opted to fight for the united states while the other decided to fight for the British. The natives that chose American’s side were Oneidas and Tuscaroras. They chose Americans' side because they wanted to fight on the king’s side. The side that fought for British were Mohawks, Cayuga, Onondagas, and Seneca.
