Humans have been doing experiments on animals that benefit humans for many decades now. Very wild things like growing an ear on a mouse that is capable of being transplanted onto a human. Don’t worry things get even weirder from here on out. Scientists in the U.S are trying to create part human and part animal embryos. This would in return create animals with human organs. I don’t know about you, but I feel that this is taking things a little too far. I mean come on animals with human organs this doesn’t seem right. It freaks me out at the fact that one day a cow could have a human heart, or a human lung. We already have farms that raise animals to kill to eat, and now we are potentially adding more farms to kill animals for their organs to …show more content…
Wells, and in this novel, there’s a group of scientists that are conducting experiments on animals. Now at the part I am currently at in the novel we don’t know exactly what kind of experiments are being conducted. We do however know that there are several half animal half human characters. One character has furry pointed ears, and I assume it’s like dog ears. Another character has a misshapen face with glowing eyes. One scene so far talks about a dog howling out of pain. I assume that somehow the scientists are taking parts from animals and transplanting them into humans for different types of benefits. Take the character with the pointed ears for example, maybe he has greater hearing much like a dog. Maybe the character with the glowing eyes has heightened vision like and owl. These are all assumptions because the scientists in the novel are very secretive about their experiments. I can’t wait to read more of the novel to hopefully find out what exactly is going …show more content…
However, I did read a very interesting article from NPR called “In Search For Cures, Scientists Create Embryos That Are Both Animal And Human”. It talks about how scientists are trying to create embryos that are both human and animal. Meaning that these embryos called “chimeras” would have both animal and human organs. Now this kind of cool yet creepy at the same time. The scientist’s goals are to hopefully create farm animals that have human organs that can be used to help save very ill humans. This means that we would no longer have to rely so heavily on organ donors to supply organs ultimately increasing the number of lives we can save. Not to mention it would significantly reduce the price to save lives, due to the fact we would have an abundance of organs. It could be a game changer in today’s medical field. Now just think this is just one of the countless number of experiments going on in today’s world. Who knows how many experiments go un noticed by the media, or even kept in the shadows away from the publics views all
