1. Preparations for the Celebration
The Marriage Supper of the Lamb will take place in the heavenly city of Jerusalem. However, before the LORD Jesus Christ, the Lamb publicly celebrates His marriage with His Bride, He will destroy the Old Jerusalem.
The reason for this is plain and simple: Jesus Christ will have a Bride, The New Jerusalem, which is from above in the heavenlies with its holy inhabitants (Revelations 21:2). The Antichrist will imitate the true Christ by having his bride, Old Jerusalem here below in the earth. For this reason, the Bride of the Antichrist is called the “Mother of Harlots!”

Old Jerusalem’s destruction will be accomplished by God’s appointment.
“And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate, and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled” (Revelations 17:16, 17).
In Revelations 17:3, 5, John the Apostle saw
“… a woman sitting upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns… And upon her forehead was written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH”
Some people interpret the seven heads and seven mountains upon which the woman sits as being the city of Rome which is situated upon the seven natural hills, but that can’t be because God’s Word says,
“And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth” (Revelations 17: 18). …show more content…
As a result, the Bride is enabled to go forth and performs deeds of righteousness and out of which God creates a pure white Bridal Dress made of linen flax.
The Revelation of the Bride’s Dress
As already stated, the Bridal Dress is made of pure white linen. Linen is made of flax or hemp. Describing the efforts needed to become the Lord’s Bride, Reverend B.R. Hicks in the book, Revelation: Book 4, symbolically likened it to the making of the Linen dress thus,
“It is important that we realize that a great amount of work goes into growing the flax or hemp. Secondly, more work is needed for the flax to go through different, necessary operations which turn it into linen yarn. Thirdly, a great deal more industry is employed to weave linen yarn into linen cloth”.
