Bender in the movie was a very crazy and different from all the others. He had no respect for anyone, not even himself. He was abused verbally at home, that made him very uptight and not wanting to talk about his issues. He's not a bully he's more like a juvenile delinquent. His obnoxious character and humor really are what put the movie into gear. He begins the movie with a big jump into humor mixed with obnoxious behavior. Bender will sacrifice his own well being for a good joke. He has a big issue with the supervisor of Saturday school, Richard Vernon. Vernon gave him two months worth of detentions and Bender didn’t even care, he was begging for more. Vernon was so fed up with him that he took him in the back room and told him when he graduates, Vernon will knock him out. All his jokes to Claire are very sexual and inappropriate. The story just wouldn’t go as well without his constant pestering. He may not be the most wonderful kid but he made the movie great. Claire seemed to have some feelings for him in the end and maybe wanted to get with him. She might have liked bad boys which are great examples of Bender. Bender got emotional when the others started to ask him about his family and how his home life is. He started yelling what his dad would say and it was really bad. All the kids felt bad for him and didn’t really understand how much problems he had a home until they talked to him. Claire was adjusting her earrings and Bender started yelling at her asking if that was her Christmas present. He was explaining to everyone how he got a pack of cigarettes for his Christmas
