The Pharisees, a group of people from the Old Testament known to be the opposite of Jesus, when in fact they were very similar and could have debate because of all the similarities. They were very obedient when it came to following The Torah and its commands. The Pharisees were very religious also in the fact that they thought, “every house was a temple, every table was an altar, and every man was a priest…” (19-20). The Sadducees, they were the group that held the most power in the Old Testament. Even though they held the most power we don’t hear much about them because they weren’t in Galilee, where Jesus was.
